JOSS LABADIE RE-SIGNS

We are aware that some Trust Members did not receive an email on the Joss Labadie signing.  We are looking into why this is with our technical team but apologise if you did not receive it.  Please check in your Junk or Spam folders as it could be in those areas of your account and we have had some returned as undeliverable.  You can check that your contact details are correct at the  Change Details screen, if you have trouble accessing your account please email us on the details at the bottom of the article.  We have committed to improving our contact and if all members can check this page it will help us deliver this promise.

The content of the email was as follows:

Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the re-signing of Joss Labadie until the end of the season subject to clearance.

A player who will need very little introduction to Exiles supporters, Labadie has already made over 50 appearances for the Club since first signing a deal in June 2016.  As Captain, Labadie led the team through the Great Escape and to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The 28-year-old missed out on the closing stages of the 2017/18 Season after picking up an injury in training.  Labadie has worked hard since his injury to get back to fitness and confirmed he couldn’t wait to get going.

This signing has been made possible through a matched funding approach by the Trust and individual Board members and reflects the desire of the Club to match the ambition and intent of the Manager and his team.

Without the recent increase in subscriptions, following the supporters’ forum in September, this signing would not have been possible – so a big thank you to the supporters that have supported the Trust and the individual Board members that have ensured this signing could take place.

As a thank you, Trust Members were sent an email announcing details of the signing before anyone else.

After completing the deal, Joss said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be back.  It’s good to finally get this over the line and I’m ready to get back into the swing of things.

“I’m back.  The knee’s all good and I can’t wait to get going now.  It’s been a long seven months.”

Manager Michael Flynn added: “I’m over the moon to have Joss back.  He’s a fantastic player, a great leader and adds quality to what we’ve already got.  For me, he’s going to come back stronger than ever and I’m really looking forward to him playing.  I’d like to thank all the Trust and Board members for making this a reality.”
