BOARDROOM UPDATE - AUGUST


The Board recognises that Trust Members and supporters wish to be more aware of and, where possible, involved in issues arising and decisions made in relation to the Club. As part of this a summary of each Board meeting will now be issued. Naturally matters that are commercially sensitive and relate personally to employees and players cannot be openly discussed.

The County Board now meets monthly on the last Thursday in each month. This is a report on the 25 August meeting:-

Manager attends each Board. Matters discussed:  team performance, future thinking, strengthening the squad and discipline issues re Luton

Two Board vacancies. To be dealt with in close season in view of current pressures

EFL latest on “Whole Game Solution”. County position supportive of any initiatives to develop league football but determined to safeguard league status and match income. Chairman and Club Secretary to attend meeting in September

First meeting of Operations Committee held. Discussed inter alia: Academy and new facilities, business development action to contact potential partners, hospitality, temporary stand signed off for H & S, Terms of Reference for urgent Retail and Ticketing review and relationship with Rodney Parade management

Commercial - all sales except screen advertising were at or above targets

Finance – monthly cash flow reports approved, Budget update considered and target completion date for finalising Accounts to 30 June. Interesting stat: match day income and the various grant type distributions now contribute almost equally to income

Fan Engagement – excellent progress made on opening a range of Involvement initiatives designed to involve in planning the way forward, Recent Communications meeting covering inter alia match publicity

Trust Membership – stats and financial position, planning presence at matches for renewals and recruitment
