Supporters’ Trust End of 2024-25 Season Update

Now that almost a week has passed since the end of the season, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on our first season as a Board and look forward to what we will focus on over the next few months.

Like many of you, we feel the disappointment following a season of poor results on the pitch. Whilst our League Two status is secure for another season, as fans of the Club and representatives of the supporters we share your desire for results and performances to improve.

We know that across the season there has been concern from Trust members, leading some to end or consider ending their membership. Whilst we understand that, we would remind you that the Trust provides an essential source of funding for the Club, primarily to support the work of the Academy to develop a pipeline for the Newport County of the future.

At the last home game of the season, we were delighted to see Club Under 18’s player Moses Alexander-Walker receive his first-team debut. Moses is a testament to the work which the Academy team do and shows how the support of Trust members can bear fruits in the Academy and for the first team.

Over the close season, we will be working with the Club to support their work in strengthening the playing squad and securing more opportunities for fan engagement with a diverse supporter base. We are grateful for the continued engagement with the Club Chairman, allowing us to provide insight from the supporter base to inform day-to-day decision making.

As part of our aim to ensure that our membership packages are meeting the needs of members, we will be looking for mutually beneficial links with local businesses and key stakeholders to continue to provide tangible benefits. If you know of any local businesses who may be willing to partner with the Trust, please contact us and put us in touch.

Alongside this, we will seek to engage with all supporters on the Trust’s fundraising and membership arrangements through a formal feedback exercise. Please look out for this in the coming weeks.

The Club and Trust rely heavily on volunteers in any number of areas. We want to encourage all fans to contribute positively to the Trust and Club. There are many opportunities to support fundraising activities or to volunteer by offering time and assistance. The most visible ones are on match days where the efforts of a team of volunteers are essential to a positive experience for us all - whether that’s selling programmes, helping in the ticket office, selling half time draw tickets, assisting our disabled fans or helping to get the ground ready. Please do reach out if you feel you are able to contribute - both the Club and Trust are grateful for any support available.

To all Trust members, thank you for your support this season. Across the financial year we will have contributed around £125,000 to the Academy. This is representative of the generosity and commitment of you all to our work and the Club.

We hope that throughout the summer and next season we can strengthen our relationship with the fans. Through our planned improvements for fan engagement, we are aiming to engage with more supporter groups to bring more voices front and centre on matters including ticket prices and match day experience.

As always, if you have any queries, please reach out to us by email on info@ncafctrust.org or through a direct message on social media.

Very best wishes,

The Trust Board
